The Islamic State publicly beheaded an Iraqi journalist

Militants of the Islamic State (ISIS) on Friday beheaded a photographer Iraqi press, his brother and two other civilians, before the public in a village north of Baghdad, according to the journalist's family revealed.

According to AFP, the jihadists killed Raad al-Azzawi, a cameraman who worked 37 years on the news network Sama Salaheddin, and three other victims in Samarra, east of the city of Tikrit.
ISIS also killed Friday in the north nine people suspected of having relations with Sunni groups antiyihadistas, security sources and witnesses.

"The Islamic State executed him, his brother and two other people in public," said a family member who requested anonymity.
"They went to his home and took him and his brother," said the family. "He has not done anything wrong, his only crime is being a cameraman, was simply doing his job," he said to the Daily Star website. According to Reporters Without Borders, journalist, father of three, had been kidnapped by the jihadist group on 7 September.

Apparently ISIS had threatened to execute Azzawi when he refused to work for them.
