First attack of British aviation against jihadists in Iraq
Aircraft of the Royal Air Force (RAF) , yesterday (30/09/14) attacked first positions of the militant group Islamic State (EI) in Iraq after the United Kingdom Parliament gave the green light for the bombing last Friday.
Warplanes have attacked a vehicle and an armed position after several days when the British aviation missions were limited to reconnaissance flights for potential targets, announced today the Ministry of Defence.
The two "precision strikes" against jihadists have carried out "successfully, according to the initial assessment" and the two planes have returned to base without incident Akrotiri in Cyprus, stressed Defense Minister, Michael Fallon.
